For almost 50 years, PELC has helped children build a strong foundation for lifelong learning. Our 2-, 3-, and 4-year-old programs offer a balanced curriculum that nurtures academic, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual growth in a warm, loving environment.
Why PELC?
Pasadena Early Learning Center (PELC) is a ministry of Pasadena United Methodist Church (PUMC), dedicated to nurturing a love of learning in a caring Christian environment. Our goal is to help each child develop socially, academically, emotionally, spiritually, and physically while building a strong foundation for kindergarten and lifelong learning.
PELC is an interdenominational Christian preschool that welcomes children and families of all faiths. We are committed to providing an inclusive environment and do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, disability, or national origin in the admission of students or the employment of faculty and staff.
As a ministry of Pasadena United Methodist Church, PELC is governed by an appointed church committee and licensed by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE). Our experienced, dedicated teachers create engaging, hands-on learning experiences that support kindergarten readiness while encouraging curiosity, confidence, creativity, and positive social relationships.
All lead teachers are certified, each classroom is supported by a teacher assistant, and our staff participates in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education. Every staff member is trained in First Aid and CPR, ensuring a safe, nurturing environment where every child can learn, grow, and thrive.
